This is exactly how it is for me too. I am only just beginning to recognise it. My therapist started pointing it out to me- like others have said here, by asking where I'd gone. I didn't know. But the strange thing for me is that usually the preceding conversation seems to be pretty innocuous and no reason to dissociate.I find that my eyes gaze away. Another sign for me is when I can't look at the person I am with. Yet...
I had a friend who used to have someone video her while she was 'out'. It showed her a lot about what was going on during her lost time. Not sure if that helps at all. Just thought I would throw it out there.I have planned on having my brother to remember when and what I was doing or talking about before and during so I can write it down and look for a pattern to try and lessen the occurrence.
