How Much Water Do You Drink?

I drink a lot of water at least 2 to 3 litres a day. Sometimes a mixture of 25% fruit juice and the rest water.

Having kidney disease and diabetes drinking water is essential, as I am constantly thirsty.

As other have mentioned water is good for your body to remove the toxins. Great for your skin, keeps it hydrated. Finally, living in a place where it can get incredibly hot in the summer, you can't live without it.

I don't know if it has been written here but did you know water affects your blood pressure? Recently I had surgery and was in hospital with low blood pressure. I was encouraged to drink more water (or any fluid) to help lift my blood pressure. The nurse even went and made me a hot chocolate just to get me to drink more as I prefer warm drinks and like water etc at room temperature.

My grandmother was like that. Plus she was on a diuretic. She hated drinking anything but coffee, so, in order to get her to drink, I told her I would drink with her. Because my system dehydrates me abnormally I'm suppose to drink. I knew she would do it just to get me to drink. I'm pretty sure she didn't drink when I wasn't there.

Yes, Nicolette, I knew that. When my bp is so low that I can barely function, my husband has taken me to the hospital. They hook me up with fluid and oxygen. It takes about 30 minutes before I can talk where they can understand me. I want to have oxygen at home for when I crash(since I can drink fluid here).

Water and fluid help the body function. Now if I would only bring myself to drink more of it. UGH. Tried adding lemon to the water and that seems to help. I like water ice cold.

We had a contest in the US to win a Wii game system. The contestant who drank the most water before having to use the bathroom won. A woman won and ended up dying later because of drinking so much water and not urinating.

The radio station that ran that contest never ran another one like that again.

I have a reaction to the water in our area, so I have to be sure to filter it, and I add lemon. It really helps. I like drinking a lot of water.

Just a side note though, be care not to drink too much too fast. That can be deadly. Over the course of the day you can drink a lot, but when you try to drink it all at once that is when it gets deadly.

Grief! I am amazed that woman is still living. Drinking too much can be deadly.

I have a friend with a chronic condition (to do with her bladder) and as a result is under strict medical advisement to have 5 litres of water a day (on top of other normal foods and fluid intake) and I was surprised that even that was not considered dangerous but 25 litres... :wideeyed:

but 25 litres

When they interviewed her on TV she said she could hear the water swashing around in her stomach at times and the most sleep she got at one time was about an hour and a half before a 'loo' break. Apparently that much water can strip the salts out of your body. The lady said that they were wondering if it was obsessive compulsive disorder and they had no conclusive result on the other normally associated medical conditions.
