Psych Medicine that is prescribed by doctors: How soon do you notice a difference after forgetting to take meds? I forgot yesterday, took them about 5 hours late and a large part of my day I spent almost worshipping the idea of death, have you ever noticed a difference that soon?

How strong are your meds? I just started taking something, and the T told me it doesn't have quite so much impact at what point of the day I take it, just to take it daily.

It varies for different meds and different people.

I have noticed a big difference after missing a dose before.

However, if your symptoms persist, call your doctor and therapist and be sure to let them know. Some meds can actually cause suicidal or other dark thoughts. It can come on suddenly.

PTSD itself can also cause this symptom too.

Im okay when I take them on time. I have two, both at maximum dosage. I had my inpatient doctor (the original prescriber) emphasize the importance of taking them at the same time everyday. My outpatient doctor says, its okay whenever as long as its daily (not the original prescriber). Guess I should just ask my regular Psychiatrist.

Depends on medicine. Some have short half-life....some much longer. Some meds are half gone in hours...others days. Plus @Justmehere mentioned everyone is different.

My psychiatrist (old and new one) have always been very specific time of day. I set reminders on smartphone - otherwise I would have forgotten.

I'd talk to original psychiatrist that gave it to you. Not my business what you are on. But do a search for it's half-life or talk to pharmacist.
