This raises several questions:
Do abusers know they are abusing?

Well @Jefis how many times does a person have to say NO?

If they don't 'know any better' than to not hurt others, then I guess they need to be locked up don't they? If they have a mental illness and are a danger to others and victimizing others then lock them up! It's quite simple.

Abuse is about power and control, one person who doesn't give a crap about someone else's rights and boundaries. If someone violates someone else- lock them up!! Why should society have to live in danger and hold their breathe in dread of someone else being victimized?!

My worse abuse was covered up in the worse way, dumped on the street with no resources, no possession other than clothes I had on, in the middle of one of the worse winters in DC area, in a mental state that I was unable to function, leaving me to turn to alcohol to cope, and prostitution to survive. It was about 7 years later when my abusers were shut down after the murder of tammy agee who was a client in their care. What is even worse about this is I was a DSS ward, and DSS knew about the abuse there but choose to ignore it. I am lucky I am alive the damage done was so great, my T say's it's the worse she has seen, and I may never fully recover from it, only improve. I am tired of always feeling guarded with the world around me.

That ache inside of you will become more tolerable. You will heal.
