I Am A Proud Aunty!

My 11 year old grandson ( step grandson so they call me Aunty!) phoned me yesterday to tell me had had come first in his music festival. At age 11 he won the 11-14 year old group and also got joint overall winner with another child.

He was playing the chanter. That is the 'pipe' bit of the bagpipes. He has already moved on to the full bagpipes now and will be competing at that next.

I am so proud of him, but was also so thrilled that he was proud of himself, enough to want to phone and tell me.

How very cool Brucielucy. Its wonderful he is learning the bagpipes to. I wish I could watch him. I like to hear the bagpipes.:applause:

Same grandson has just hit the jackpot ( in his opinion!) In January 2014 he will be joining the local pipe band. He has been accepted and is suitably pleased. But the icing on the cake was when he learned that the band will be playing at EuroDisney next summer!! One very happy little boy, who now has to start the fundraising.
