I Don't Remember My Nightmares

I almost never remember my nightmares, but I know I have them. I wake up (usually having wet the bed) and my heart is beating, and I have the emotional "funk" that comes with feeling like I've been violated in some way. I know my nightmares usually involve me being chased down.

There are some times when I dream, and I think most folks would consider my nightmares to be dreams and my dreams to be nightmares. Bleeding skeletons? I'm okay. Corpses? It's all good. Anonymous threat following me in my car? Panic. Piss the bed. Sweat a few gallons. Wake up with my heart trying to slam its way out of my chest.

When I take my Prazosin, the emotional impact worsens. I talked to my psych, who UPPED my Prazosin dosage. I've become non-compliant with my sleep meds, while I'm still compliant with my other meds. I don't want to go to bed and ruin yet another mattress because the cover for it is too worn out from being washed. I'm tired of having to do laundry every day and getting barked at by my Dad for having to do it.

I just ran into a trigger and I'm really trying not to panic, but it's either sleep and risk a nightmare, or stay up and have to confront this trigger.

This happens to me. I bought disposable puppy pads and lay on them. I doubled them up..

Also do you know those pads they put under patients in the hospital? They are cloth but very absorbant. I got those. If I wet one I put it in a garbage bag at the end of the week I throw them in the washer. I line a hamper with a garbage bag, put another bag in and keep it tied. You could put them each in a bag too and wash at end of week. I'm sure you could buy them online. I got 5 of them from the hospital. A nurse gave them to me when my husband broke his legs.

Hope this helps.

I do use bed pads, but they get expensive when I go through a bag every few days. I tend to be an "athletic sleeper," meaning I do a lot of rolling and moving about on my mattress, which leads to many of the pads being ruined. I wasn't aware of the hospital pads; I may have to look into those. Thank you.

Oh man, that stinks. Maybe get a twin bed so you don't have room to roll....lol. I wear depends too which helps absorb most of it. Luckily I don't have the issue every night either. Maybe twice a week. It would get expensive.
