If You Could

Yes to everything above...those are my #2, #3, and #4 dreams. My #1 dream is to have a fully working farm with veggies, fruit, chickens, goats, honey bees, and a cow, and have a "worker" home on the property. This would be a community garden type with special events like tea and birthday parties, but the workers would be women or teens who need a helping hand up. They would help in the gardens and with the animals, and help take the goods to market. They would earn a wage and extra credits for their time. This dream came about after working in the garden my whole life. With my last relationship and after the divorce I had lost the self-love and healing I get from working with my hands. I came across a couple who owned a farm and needed help. I signed up and now a year later I am their farm project manager. I am a completely different person now. If I could give that self-love and healing power to another person, that would be magical for me. When you come from a place of emotional and verbal abuse, or physical and sexual abuse, to gain some level of control over your life is powerful. To know that even if you don't have a job or a home, you can still put a plant in the ground to get food...you did that, no one else. You are taking the reigns of your life back!!

Very interesting responses. I had no clue when posting this thread where it was going. I just truly believed that most people are afraid to ask! In fear of being rejected. I am feeling pretty good reading your reply's. I feel every one of your dreams are reachable. Outstanding possabilities, we can hold hands and support and build. This was a great idea. I loved the idea for the latchkey kids having been one. I have a dream, of me feeling good everyday. I know it is a very selfish idea. I think if I was well other ideas would come to me. I would love to offer free counseling to teenagers and really help them not to be so hard on themselves. I think this is very important. This is a huge problem and my awareness has just been raised about what a big problem it is.

I think I blitzed myself trying to stay on top of everything! Nasty summer cold and allergies. Trying to take it easy. @Gizmo every small effort becomes larger once the wind catches the sail! I might need a bigger ship.

If I could, I would love to open my own group home for troubled children. I work with the youth population in a state facility. Some of the kids just need a person to just be there for them. They may come out of their shell. I would love to take some of those same children and put them in my group home. Take them places and do things with them would be my concentration.

Thank you for the well wishes! Much better and smarter I hope. What are the odds that one member of my class approaches for a private class. She is trying to find her fathers numerous wifes of which he was never divorced from and her grandfather of which were both sexual abusers. There are no accidents! I have learned I am meant to be I just never expected I would end up affected.

Most of the incredible thoughts coming up here are possible! Sometimes it is a matter of networking. Community centers, Churches, Schools may have facilities which might be open to having a means of space and resources. Building dreams start with writing a plan, researching the community needs and putting it together. It is your plan to create and modify to suit your needs as well.
