For years my H and I drive for our local voluntary community car scheme. Drivers use their own vehicles. It helps take people who cannot access transport by taking them to appointments, shopping etc.
This service was my lifeline last year after my accident. Wed 16th Feb was the anniversary. To be positive I contacted our co-ordinator and said I was available again as a driver. We have a number of very narrow tracks and I said I wasn't confident with those trips.
This morning I did my first trip since the accident. I took an elderly lady to the doctors and then returned her home. Total distance 3 miles, boost to self esteem, priceless.
