I've lived with ptsd since childhood and head injury since 80s. I was diagnosed two years ago with ptsd.
Finding out that what plagued me as a child was ptsd. I just didn't understand as a child that the monster and darkness that surrounded me was ptsd. The intrusive thoughts, the fear and anxiety, and the panic were with me all the time.
Since being diagnosed I have worked hard in group and with therapist; and getting information am learning to live with both head injury and ptsd along with medication. It is hard work to not be the ptsd and the head injury. I am a human being. Acceptance is the key for me and I do that one day at a time along with the tools am learning.
Good luck to you all, Bluejoy. :)
