Melatonin Levels?

Hi,
Kind of a long story, but I was diagnosed with Sleep Delayed Phase Syndrom way before the diagnosis of ptsd ever came about.

During testing they found my melatonin during normal sleeping hours pretty much non-exsistant. My levels were at nearly zero meanwhile even during the day normal levels would atleast be halfway up the charts.

At the time of the first diagnosis I wasn't able to be truthful about the abuse. Now years later, although a tad bit better the levels are still on the really low side during normal sleep hours.

Alot of things can effect sleep and I was wondering if anyone had a DLMO after being diagnosed with ptsd due to sleeping difficulties

Are you referring to an unusual circadian rhythm?

I know I, and my husband are both day sleepers, we were told at a clinic that it's uncommon, but not that rare. Mine is, most likely due to the fact that I felt it safer to sleep in the day when my abusers were put of the house, and over years became normal. At least, that's what I suspect, I'm not a professional so take that as you will.

Basically yes.

My preffered/easiest times to sleep is from 4 am untill noon. Ofcourse in the real world that puts me at a major disadvantage.

It does, but rest assure, it's something that happens a lot.

There are ways you can cope-but what specifically is causing you problems because of your sleep schedual? Is it getting stuff done? Holding down a job? Family life?

I've had to adapt around my schedual for a number of things, but listing them would get rather long, and not much point if some of them you've already managed to adapt to on your own :)
