Any favorite songs/bands you listen to to help you move along? Some of the stuff I listen to doesn't seem to be positive or helpful on the surface, but it is to me.

I'm into Ween right now (probably not well known) and the song playing now is It's Gonna Be. I used to listen to Ween all the time and recently rediscovered them when i found an old CD.

I also love Adele. Her music is personal and follows her life journey so far.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Florence + The Machine, Metallica, The Lumineers, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, Foreigner, Journey, U2 and Paul Simon are also in my songs list right now.

I am a singer and write my own songs. Music helps me so much and calms me down. I just discovered Coldplay and the Dixie Chicks. Ellie Goulding, La Roux, Paul Simon, I love lots of differents kinds of music. Kate Nash, Laura Marling, Emiliana Torrinni, Anathema, Loreena Mckennit, MIA, Tracy Chapman. I haven't been able to perform for so long now, but I have an art/music therapist who is helping me, and last time I could play piano for her. That was nice.

I have quite the eclectic taste as well Nadia. I don't have a problem with any particular genre of music. I don't do hard rap or death metal at all. I am glad you have a therapist who is in tune to you that way. Many don't even try to go that deep into a patient.

JSKarma- That was good! Do you listen to other bass artists? Have you ever heard of DJ Magic Mike? He was a 90's bass artist. He has very good Bass CD's if you are into it.

Monster- I don'[t think I have heard of Skillet. I will have to look them up.

I like to listen to the DEEP FOREST CD that has a track on it called DEEP FOREST (1992). This can be found on YouTube. It is based upon the tribal language of some tribe from the Amazon, but also has a Techno feel to it in terms of the music. I have never heard any piece of music like it, before or since. I guess I love really unique music, because this is exactly that. It has a lot of drums in it too, if I recall, or at least some of the tracks on this CD do. Enjoy!

Have you ever listened to Enigma? They are what I call "mountain music". I listen to them when I drive the Blue Ridge Parkway because they are relaxing, peaceful and upbeat.

Kate Bush is so great and really gets my emotions triggered. I often find myself teary with some of her songs...but not always am I sad when I get teary. Her passion and the beauty of her music really stirs me.

I was into Weezer for a time about two years ago, and now I love snow patrol, and placebo. A new band, Ormonde, were introduced to me by freakofnurture here, and I love them at night time.

Anything classical and good. I prefer soothing, calm music to death metal or really loud rock. I do love faith no more when I want to get my energy up though.
