Great news for you and your children Julie.

When he does get out, if still in one piece, your children will be old enough to stand up to him. At a rough guess he will be into his sixty's, with not enough strength to cause anyone else anymore harm.

Gosh that was nice to hear. Thank you so much for posting the news! I hope you've been able to breathe a little, and believe it's all true. I remember that part took me a while.

Enjoy you children, and take care,

Anni

That is such great news!!! I am relieved that none of you will have to worry about looking over your shoulder anymore. I wish you and your family the very best. Have fun and breathe and rest assured knowing that you are safe.

Julie,
I too was almost killed by me ex wife. Long story, short....we got in a argument over a dog if you can believe it, (but I now can see that there was so much that built up to that moment) she runs in the kitchen screaming and gets a knife and holds it up above her as though she is going to stab herself. I run in the kitchen seeing this and immediately grab her wrist with the knife, she wiggles free and cuts my left hand, as I back up and raise my hand in pain, she stabs me in the left side, buried a 10 inch blade to the handle in me!!! I remember her running out of the house screaming. Thank god my brother was there to get me in the car and to the hospital. I was in the Air Force at the time. I spent 3 days in ICU, 3 months in the hospital, and over a year light duty recovering. I lost my spleen and the tail end of my pancreas. That was over 20 years ago and it is still so very clear and gives me the willies thinking about it. Just wanted you to know I can relate and that I am so very glad I and you have found a place where we can share! Until now, the only other person I have told this to is my wife and parents. Feels so good to tell others now:tup:! Hang in there, you are gonna get through this!!!!

Congratulations, Julie! Thank you for posting that news. Your story was terrifying to read. I'm glad to hear that he will be away from you and your children and is no longer weaseling around the legal system.
Welcome.

((((Julie))))

May the comforting laughter and innocence of your babies bring you healing and continued renewal of strength each day.

May you find peace and safety.

May your babies know how strong and special their mommy is.

May fortune smile upon you....

Another update, tomorrow the local news station will be coming to my home to do a story on my case. I am both nervous and excited. I want to be able to share the truth of Domestic Violence. I feel that is my purpose in life. I realize it won't happen over night but I will do everything I can to get the word out.

I attend a D.V. group and some of the stories I hear make me shudder. I admire your courage and strength. Good for you.:)

Take Care. Heather

I am a survivor of domestic abuse as well. I have my scars; the physical ones I call "lovely parting gifts" and the emotional ones do not have a pet name....yet. When I first got out it was surreal. I was trying to cope with the aftermath of abuse and a diagnosis of PTSD as well as the freaking symptoms and care for children as well. I was not present and would drift. I taught the kids to touch my arm and say mom if I did not respond to them. It brought me right back. I baracaded the doors every night and watched over my shoulder all the time. He is a police officer. I am so glad that you are here to tell your story and try to impact other women as well. It is not an easy journey but it is so worth every step. Congratulations on your freedom and your new life.
