My Vet told me he plans to start playing rugby again and I am really happy.
He used to play it but stopped after an injury. The last year has not been a good one for us because he had lots of trouble with hypervigiliance, lots of trouble sleeping and so on and that had brought him down a bit though he is a person who always tries to see the bright side.

Now he told me he wants to start again and had one of his sweet smiles on his face. That made me really happy. He is one of the guys who refuses to feel down for a longer time :)

@SheilaKathy: Actually I don't play rugby. I am a bit like Winston Churchill: no sports! It makes me happy to see that he is happy and full of life again. The last year has been stressful because of hypervigiliance, this Christmas has no been a good one. He walked out on the family and disappeared for an hour which he never did before. He never liked New Year's Eve and this year has started with him nagging about my lack of cleanness and (according to him) never being on time. He went as far as to tell me that there must be something wrong with me for being two minutes late. May be still stressed from New Year's Eve. Who knows? I have a thread on that and come back to it later. Don't want to spoil my mood now.
Between Christmas and the new year he told me he was feeling unwell.

But now he is back to being happy and cheerful again.

@Sweetpea76: Me too. My guy has a really sweet and winning smile and I have always loved it about him. He is upbeat no matter what.
Sometimes he also smiles and acts euphoric when he is feeling stressed or bad but I have learned to tell a true smile from a stressed one and this has been a true one.

In the new year I want to learn more about combating hypervigiliance. I know a lot about the condition now but don't know much about how to help him with it. His centers mostly around crowds but also around people being late or disorganized or not calling when they are supposed to call.

In the last year I started to sometimes struggle with hypervigiliance. I never had that before and think it is a direct result of being with him.
