So... I'm petting sitting these two cats. One is very old and has significant health issues. I have to give him meds every visit and sub-q fluids (sort of like an IV) every other visit. He's supposed to be the sweet one but at this point he's not thrilled with me. I get it. I keep doing stuff to him and I'm not a member of his family. The other cat is supposed to be aloof at best and out right unfriendly at worst. They warned me to be careful around him. Apparently the only person he's affectionate to is the man. Except we've been gradually making friends and today he was all over me- purring, cuddly, head-butting. He couldn't get enough. I just felt so honored. I sent the people a short video and they were thrilled. When an animal like that gives you trust, it's a very special thing.

During the sunset scene tonight, there were dozens and dozens of dragon flies, and then some, swooping all around, eagerly dining on the massive bug buffet. What an awesome feeling to stand barefoot in the grass right in the middle of it all.
