One Thing That Made You Smile Today?

I passed a parked car that said on it: "Security Training and Private Investigation", and the guy was fast asleep at the wheel with the window open and his head back and mouth open like we are when snoring. 😄 Unless some one shot him (hopefully not!) I think a shopping widower. I would have taken a pic but that seemed creepy lol. 🤭

@Teasel
great read. Sadly, repair part costs are often the reason given for buying new instead. Stocking all those parts is expensive, especially when few people go looking for the less common parts. But, aftermarket parts houses are getting more sales, and savvy purchasers are bypassing the more trouble prone manufacturers thanks to reviews on amazon and the like.
there are many makers of cordless drills for example. After taking one apart to fix it and finding that the broken part was actually suitable for continued use ( if you just inverted it in its position and exposed its opposite side to the mechanism it was its own replacement part) I made a lasting decision on what brand cordless tools to buy. Simply basing future decisions on the initial failure would have been too easy, but getting inside and looking around showed me the real value of the design, and the direction the design engineers intent. Priceless.

A consumer that fixes what breaks is an educated consumer and the market AND the manufacturers both profit. When good engineering wins out over good marketing consumers and manufacturers both win.

My 4 year old grandson had been on a boat today and asked his parents if they could get a boat-they told him know. When he got home, he said he wanted to call/facetime gigi and pap. He asked if was sunny here and if we were in the pool. Then he asked if pap pap has a boat and I said no. Then he said, do you think pap pap will buy me a boat, a real boat, a big boat for the lake. I did a lot more than smile. Funny how they think to ask grandparents, and it true that we indulge a little. He is just so cute so anytime he facetimes me I love it and smile. Then the conversations really make me laugh.

Came across a really thin unwell seeming little cat on our walk today. Was so sad. I suggested we go home and fetch some food for it so we did, brought a pouch of wet food and a little tub to put it into.

The little cat ate and ate and ate. Was still worried about it, but was glad to see him eat.

Thankfully his owner came home soon after and we chatted. She explained he's very old, not got much of an appetite. Thanked us for feeding him.

He's an elderly gentleman of 18 (the cat) called Herbie.

Felt good to see him eat, especially as he's not been eating much.
