Opiate Comedowns

I have read the internet about how many days it takes to come down of certain meds. Just wanted a proffesional spin(Forum) of how long it takes to come down from months of use of Tramadol?
I stopped taking on friday as it started ruling my life but been on a slippery slope since, no sleep (even when highly medicated on Zolpidol), flu like symptoms got to a point yesterday when i couldnt read anything to do with military cos i got too emotional and welled up. Its hard trying to hide it from my family, they know but that doesnt make it any easier. Had to leave work (loose terminolgy as im medically downgraded P0, but if i dont interact i might aswell give up) as i looked like a crack addict who had run out of coin !

Mate I would question its use for someone with PTSD. It affects your serotonin levels which help aid depression.
The people I know got some aid from codeine when getting off it; however, said the worst of the withdrawal symptoms only last between 12 - 14 days. It really depends on what dosage of Tramadol you were on.
I was finding the same problem with benzodiazipams.

Cheers. The Tramadol (400mg a day) is currently being used for the numerous holes i was left with from the RPG i failed to catch, in his defence it was presribed for pain not PTSD for a change. I stayed off them for years but in the end the pain got too much for paracetomol itself. Im in with my shrink again on Fri and he says he's gonna change some stuff round. This come down is shocking TBH and kinda takes over the feeling of pain in a weird way.

Well that's your fault to start with, you should of caught it and threw it back..... I love your humor.

All opiates have a horrible comedown. The benzo's are the same. I felt scattered and strung out (terms used from when I gave up pot and other pills). A lot of people can't handle that feeling and go back.
Did you start weaning yourself off them, or just stop???? Most opiates you should wean off.

Again, my fault i went from 400mg to zero, which i thought i needed to do i was losing it.
Ive learnt a lesson about weaning now thats for sure as i have trouble at the mo with the shocking shaking im having.( Normally have the jitters but this is taking the piss!) Got a print out of all the meds i have had through the years since 2007-2008 and it took up 4 pages of A4 paper.
You want a run down of my meds im on at the mo, going up again on friday i think ?

In all honesty mate, go see your doctor or psych before trying to get off them. Some of them have horrific side effects if you give them up.

I too would fill up a few pages since 07. We actually have what's called 'The Safety Net' here. If you reach 60 prescriptions, you get them for nothing. I usually make it by August.
I am not on as many now thank goodness.

I will have a chat with him on Fri mate as i realise im coming down off one drug but im in pain at the same time.Got EMDR again tommorow, wonder how long it will take me before them lights make me flip? Oh joy !
My fault for not catching it properly,sort of, i picked a postion so i had better eyes on for Apache support( 15M too close for my Arty&Mortars), they couldnt fire, no PID on taliban.
Had a nice suprise when i came round from my first set of Ops. They had kindley given my the Frag, with first part of serial No off the warhead, in a jar by my bed side, like i wanted reminded !Its still in my bathroom in a jar. LOL
