Political Venting

If only that single case in Maryland could be extrapolated to represent all ICE detentions then the fairy tale of them being white knights might be true. The story is much more nuanced than that. Surprised you even heard about him. ICE detentions in my city are mostly learned about by neighbors and friends, rarely to never by media of any kind.

Surprised you even heard about him.
I heard about him because I have more complete news sources. You didn't answer my question. Do you believe he should not have been sent back to his country? Now I will add another one. Shouldn't people be angry that this was not reported by our mainstream news so we can all make decisions based on complete information?

Personally I’m not smart enough (or don’t have the time) to understand the globalists concept because I can’t see the hidden structures, but the structures I can see make me plenty mad enough.
I very much doubt that you are not smart enough to understand the globalist structure that exists in our society today. Maybe just not motivated to search out the information. I have found a good video for you that explains the concept. It is backed by real life videos of the globalist actors stating THEMSELVES what their intentions are. To sum it up, globalists run our world under the cover of a apparently democratic structure. They are incredibly wealthy and influential and we did not - I repeat - did not - elect any of them. They are however, the ones pulling the strings of our rulers.

In youtube look for a video by 'America Uncovered' that was created 3 years ago called 'How the World Economic Forum Controls the World - Klaus Schwab and the Great Reset.

Again, if you are not interested in knowing that is a different thing and I won't engage anymore. I am not here to push things on people.

If you continue to be interested you can also search for Jordan Peterson - any of his videos on World Economic Forum.

Due process is, you're illegal > sent out of country immediately.
Due process is: you're credibly accused of being an undocumented alien -> you get the opportunity to demonstrate that you are, in fact, documented; or that the documents you have are all that you need (e.g. are visiting under a visa waiver program which is why you don't have a visa); or assert citizenship (on penalty of perjury, depending on the stage of the inquiry). The key thing in due process being the opportunity.

Shouldn't people be angry that this was not reported by our mainstream news so we can all make decisions based on complete information?
That depends. There are several important aspects of this case, notably the pitifully small fraction of his sentence that was served custodially. Is that typical in Maryland? If so, then that aspect of the case is only remarkable insofar as it's a part of a larger pattern of releasing criminals very early.

Notably the perp is also a Guatemalan subject to a final order of removal. Do those subject to final orders of removal commit heinous offences at a higher rate than average? If not, then that aspect of the case is not remarkable.

Seemingly his release from Maryland's custody was coordinated with ICE picking him up. Is that kind of cooperation unusual?

It's an interesting story that draws attention to Maryland's custodial practices, but artificially boosting stories to national attention without contextualizing their level of remarkability can be a form of bias i.e. if those subject to final orders of removal commit heinous offences at average rates and the custodial sentence served is typical then reporting on just those heinous offenders who happen to be subject to a final order of removal who are released very early provides not only incomplete information but creates an actively misleading impression.

So no, without more context I don't see why one would be angry that this wasn't made into national headlines. News is by its nature in the long run an aggregate of anecdotes, which does not make it data for making decisions from unless that aggregation is filtered to remove biases of editorial decisions. Which is damn difficult because the more different notable things you can cram into the same story the more likely it is to be reported on, which biases towards the unusual (that attracts eyeballs) rather than the typical (that you want to make decisions based on).

Interesting. I wonder if the toddler was you and subjected to a lifetime of flashbacks, trauma, most likely disability and more whether you would feel the same way.

I find it so interesting that people are actually fighting for perpetrators. Those perpetrators would not have had the opportunity to become a citizen of the USA if they had come into the country legally. Is nobody else on this board interested as to what is leading to the dehumanization of these victims (in case you are not clear on who the victim is - it is the CHILDREN and victims of the crimes they are committing).

a senator at the hearings on ice funding and oversight showed video from chicago showing an ice officer in a passing vehicle spray a driver of another vehicle while he was driving today. Sorry, didnt get his name but i suspect this video will be a highlight on any news coverage of todays hearing.
the spray hit a 1 yr old in a carseat in the back seat in the face. the driver and all occupants are citizens, trying to peacefully leave an area where they saw that ice operations were underway. They have brown skin. The officers have a badge. we cant change their skin color. badge? not for long. in a civilized society that does the right thing after mistakes are made? should have already been taken away.

Seth Magaziner, rep from Rhode Island.

This is wrong on so many levels. First is the endangering the lives of anyone in the vicinity of a moving vehicle being driven by an incapacitated driver. The endangering of the lives of the occupants including the child. the attack on a family of US citizens. So many more levels of wrong, If those arent enough what does it take? Murder?

Yep, I agree, if this happened it was a bad idea. Problem is, I can't find any video to confirm that this did actually take place. I see video after the fact but nothing to show it happened. Do you have anything more on it?

just what was presented in session today. there is a you tube channel with all of the hearings on it. Cspan probably has it. I originally saw it on CBS news
