Interesting. I wholeheartedly confess that I am a terribly foul-mouthed person in a whole range of contexts, thanks largely to my having been raised in the country and gone on to work in law enforcement. I usually shy rejectingly away from such stereotypes, but quite frankly, on both counts, they're true.
That said, foul language for me is also very much a feature of conversation and language generally and is almost never meant aggressively or critically. Perhaps oddly, I find that when I am actually angry or being critical, I tend to swear less than in normal relaxed conversation. Go figure.
I am also very contextual with my language, quite unconsciously. With certain people and in certain contexts I swear often and almost without awareness, and yet am not even tempted to do so when in other company. I guess they call it contextual learning... or perhaps they just call it an excuse!
