I recently needed the therapist that I fired to fill out some paper work for me. He put down that I have PTSD but also added that it's an "emotional disability" in reference to what PTSD actually is. I haven't given the paperwork to the people I need to give it to because, quite honestly, I think adding that makes it seem/sound like I'm just not in control of my emotions and It wouldn't be beneficial to me in any way to have it worded that way.
But, that's all besides the point of this post. In the most simplistic terms, is that what PTSD is? If we take away how the brain works, what causes PTSD, triggers and all the other stuff, are our emotions at the core of it? I guess what he wrote really bugs me and now I am overthinking all of this.
