Sunshine - because I am struggling with it myself - the emotional hurts count too. :( Worse, maybe for little ones. Both our men need to control their PTSD outbursts. I know mine can, because he can "fake" it for other people - right in between being awful to me. My T pointed out that there was a fire a number of years ago at a mental institution and more than half of the catatonic population (some of whom had been non-responsive for YEARS) got themselves out of the building.... He opines that "if they can do it..." Sigh.

Thank you amazing people....

I havent checked in for a while....

Hubby flew off of the handle over the weekend as we were having a Spring clean (He drives me mad shoving things in drawers, putting things in the wrong place/ room so I cant find anything - sounds silly but it is a nightmare)

I saw that he had put a little teddy bear of mine in a carrier bag and I said "Thats mine - Its from my sister" (it was a wedding present!) and that was it - He said that he knew I was going to go down the bags and was really angry....

He throws away things that are not his and are not rubbish! And I wasnt going down the bags!!!

It was horrible.

He then was in a mood at a party for our sons friend a few hours later - He asked for a beer at 3pm and alchol effects him terribly now. He threw a mood with the school mums around, threw the car keys at me and said "See you when ever" - he walked off but was back 15 mins later. He said he was really sorry but just cant help it.

He was in a mood on Sunday too - resulting in a horrible night :o(

The PTSD symptoms dont seem to be too bad at the moment - not sleep walking, no flashbacks (well he hasnt mentioned them to me) but the mood swings are really horrible and wiping me out.....

I contiue to support and hang on in there.... but it is very very difficult......

Much love to you all

Sunshine

Sunshine - my heart hurts for you. The mood swings ARE horrible, and poison everything (at least for me) eventually.

You guys have been dealing with an awful lot in the last several months. Medication can have profound effects on mood. So can illness and - of all things - food. My H's last (and worst to date) episode was at the same time as he had a major intestinal bleeding episode - the doc got the blood results and said "come in right away." So check the meds - and if they make him irritable, take him off. I found that ANYTHING that is time released makes me a B***H. Totally.

You may need to set some behavioral boundaries to give him a reason to get serious about controlling his behavior.
