At present we have a setting that allows people to read 5 posts before they have to register.

How about another setting, say register and offer your info as you see fit, but after posting 5 posts you must add Nat, Branch, Theatre to your profile to be able to post further.

Anybody reading around the forum who has offered info and chatted with us should then be in a position to say who he is and where he served.

And if there not in a positon to do that, then f*ck them off.

On the other hand, any troll can google a unit and post stats to say he is someone he isn`t.

Only by talking and listening to people on here to you get a feel for fakers, trolls and wankers.

And then those of us who see through it and react get a bad ride. Maybe thats why I don`t read intros anymore.

We have all served and lived by a gut feeling,

I understand the poll has now closed, however; I am still thinking about this and its impact... and best way to place such a rule into effect, i.e. additional profile information, lock out of posting except for introductions, so forth...

New ideas make us think of how things are done at the present and whether they should or need to be changed. These are the things that keep this place or any place really, in touch with the needs and desires of those that will come here. Always a good thing in my book. What ever the decisions are we're here to help implement them.

I want to state again, FOR ALL MEMBERS, nobody should be telling any member where they should be posting, what they should be posting, or having to give any information they don't feel comfortable giving. There are no such rules, no such requirements, and all you achieve is pissing new members off and they leave. Think about when you first got here... and all the time in the world you had as a choice to share what you wanted. Literacy levels fluctuate, paranoia levels, so forth.

If it isn't part of the software or an actual RULE, then nobody should be making shit up as though it is.
