New Here
Hello,

I am October.

My boyfriend suffers from PTSD due to family and bullying issues when he was a child.

Am seeking fellow supporters so that I have someone to talk to/message/text when I need advice, or just an ear (or screen) to vent to.

We have only been together for 4 months, but we know how we feel about eachother and we both know it will take some work. However, we have talked about it and are both willing to put the time and effort into our relationship. I have started to do some research and so far have collected some decent information.

I also have another friend suffering from PTSD and she has sent me a few things as well. She and her partner have also agreed to be a part of our support system.

I will be looking into some of the current posts later tonight (currently on my lunch break at work) to see what the Site has to offer.

Thanks for reading my intro,
October

I sometimes wonder what my reactions would have been in my situation if it were at an earlier period of our relationship. I have been married soon to be 35 years. (Won't say what that is in dog years :roflmao:)

Having only been in the relationship for only 4 months, I encourage you to look verey closely at the "stickys" in the supporter area. I think that any of us, as supporters, have to be very much aware of our own feelings, and yes, motives. Either consciously or unconsciously. I think that many of us can find it hard to try not to feel like we have to be the one to "save" the sufferer. They have to find their own way, we have to find ours.

Welcome. I am sure you will find support here
