Small things, great victories. What’s yours?

I asked my previous employer for a reference even though I wanted to avoid it. I don't know why but for my entire life I've been convinced I am not allowed to ask for them or that they would get irrationally angry if I asked. There are jobs I've never taken because I was too scared to give them references. Today I managed to write down my thoughts, assess the evidence for and against, and convince myself I was allowed to (and had to) ask.

I can now name all the states on the map of the US by shape and location 🤓 Only took me about 50 years to learn. It was when I finally realized that Connecticut was as south as it was that I went, “Wait, what?” It was because I saw that the Statue of Liberty was in New Jersey’s side of the water and I didn’t realize that New Jersey and New York were like the same place almost and then I started moving around on the map. It was when I was looking up “Queens” for the Geography game. 😇 I never really got New England geography until yesterday.

As a West coast gal I have to say that in my mind I think all you East coast people are cool! 😎👍
