I finally realized that I don't need to force myself to find and relive the memories. I just need to rewrite what the trauma taught me about myself and the world.

I made it to 28. Thought I would end up being a part of the 27 club and dying young. Glad I made it.

I asked my previous employer for a reference even though I wanted to avoid it. I don't know why but for my entire life I've been convinced I am not allowed to ask for them or that they would get irrationally angry if I asked. There are jobs I've never taken because I was too scared to give them references. Today I managed to write down my thoughts, assess the evidence for and against, and convince myself I was allowed to (and had to) ask.

I realize that asserting myself and putting up boundaries actually make me easier to love and harder to use. I used to think I had to express what I wanted meekly and even hide it. I realize now that set me up to never get my needs met and to be treated as disposable by others.

I can now name all the states on the map of the US by shape and location Only took me about 50 years to learn. It was when I finally realized that Connecticut was as south as it was that I went, “Wait, what?” It was because I saw that the Statue of Liberty was in New Jersey’s side of the water and I didn’t realize that New Jersey and New York were like the same place almost and then I started moving around on the map. It was when I was looking up “Queens” for the Geography game. I never really got New England geography until yesterday.

As a West coast gal I have to say that in my mind I think all you East coast people are cool!

This morning I took a shower, and walked pup, and ate a good breakfast, and packed a good lunch! On some mornings doing one of those is an accomplish so to have all four felt like an Olympic medal

woke up in the middle of the night after a nightmare and went back to sleep TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW! lately i lay awake in this bed more than i sleep in it, but last weekend i rested, victory!
