Hello,

Just a few items of note. My wife and I attend RCA, (Recovering Couples Anonymous). We have found many useful communication tools there. We have also developed a greater intimacy than we have ever shared. However, there are still the constant issues that arise from her past abuse. I have come to realize that while I didn't continue the abuse that my wife suffered, I didn't do anything to help her either. I appreciate what I have read here so far, and anticipate that I will be a frequent visitor, as I would like to help my wife, and not be a bystander.

Patience is the most valued gift my husband has offered me through my most recent "episode" as my neurologist last refered to it. I go through periods where I can not stand to be around other people, even him. He is always understanding and gives me space until the tide passes and I can go back to life. I don't know where I would be without him.

Welcome Explorer,
Hope the forum is able to give you support and comfort. Sounds like both of you are approaching the future with healthy attitudes. I am also a cPTSD sufferer and have a great support person in my wife.

One of the things that helps us is to approach the issues as students, understanding that we will both screw up from time to time, but learning from it rather than beating ourselves up about it.

Hope your journey forward is as peaceful and warm as it can be.

Hi and welcome to this healing place, with lots of good help and support. Your wife is blessed that you are here to learn. It will go far. Take good care of yourself, if you aren't ok nothing will be ok.

Welcome to the forum.

Pay special attention the the 'sticky' threads at the tops of the forum, they have been very helpful to me in my recovery. And the supporter section has some great ones. There is a big support group here.

Take good care of your self!

Hey The_Explorer, Welcome to the forum! Nice choice of name - as Zef said, the role we should all remember we inhabit ...:)
