Stupidest.trigger. ever. / what is your weirdest trigger?

I just realized that anything from the old crocodile Hunter show will trigger me. It was a show I watched alot when I was with #2 and I didn't realize it effected me until I tried to show the old show to my granddaughter and then tried to watch a show with Terri Irwin narrating. How freaking stupid is that.
I feel so dumb.

I don't see why you feel dumb, that show has been off the air for at least ten years. It's pretty obscure thing too, I don't think it's that odd you haven't run into it before now.

I get it -- I have some triggers that are just insane and fall under the What the Hell Freida? catagory. It's trying to connect what is under the trigger that's important, not the trigger itself.

I’ve been triggered by someone saying my name, the intro music to a popular TV show, seeing a house that was painted a certain color, the jingle of keys, the sound of knocking on a door (that was a big one to work through), the glare of sunlight off a windshield, the smell of a type of flower... all have a link in my brain to trauma for me.

It doesn’t really have anything to do with self worth and intelligence.

I ended up having to do exposure therapy to handle grey carpet. Getting stuck on a chair halfway down a hospital hallway, bawling, unable to get down.
