During this time I desperately needed some guide to hold on to. I wrote a five-page rescue kit for me to read through frequently, steps to follow so I can keep my symptoms in check. It includes
- setting straight perceptions of people, events, and objects as "threatening"
- setting straight thoughts that this is "happening on purpose"
- setting straight the idea that this life is some kind of sick test to expose you
- observing yourself and using mindfulness as opposed to reacting from emotion
- dealing with intrusive and unwanted images
- approach to obsessive-compulsive behavior
- things you can do to shift your destructive focus
- going into the world versus staying in the comfort zone
- dealing with hatred towards the self and developing patience
Peace & Love ;)
