Childhood Talking with siblings who were also abused

My experience, like some others, is that my siblings want to minimize it/pretend it didn't happen. Its difficult, but I understand its their current way to cope with it.

Yes. I've talked with mine about the stuff we went through; I was surprised that he didn't appear to remember all the times he was hit, that I'd sometimes witness him receiving, perhaps because he was young when it'd happened to him, or perhaps his mind has blocked those memories. But he does remember the verbal arguments our parents would have with him, too. He puts up with it and thinks it's normal to parents to be unsupportive towards their adult children's thoughts, feelings, etc.

I'm surprised that he didn't have the same PTSD symptoms I had: spending years feeling depressed, crying almost every night and feeling suicidal.
