General The Nightmares And Flashbacks Are Back

We are not sure Ice_Fire, but it could be having the grandchildren in a rush last week, having to sleep on the floor, while they slept in our bed.

He said he enjoyed having them, and we have had them before this has not happened.

He also said this had been building up weeks ago, so maybe it is just that he needs the therapy that will be arranged soon, or a med change.

Aww oh dear. Hmm, maybe the stress of having them over (unexpectedly?) was just a bit too much?

I hope he gets the treatment he's needing sooner rather than later. (((hugs)))

No easy answers. The ups and downs continue. I hope whatever it is gets better with Tincture of Time. That as the next few days pass, so does the nightmares.

Well, we can hope. Many times we HAVE to hold onto hope.

I feel your concern and the fact that it's hard when you don't know what triggered the relapse. That is frustrating for many.

Also, flashbacks and nightmares are the same thing. The only difference is one is when you are awake and the other when you are in a sleep stage.

Meds might actually help. Catapres or Clonidine is a blood pressure medication that has proven effective at removing nightmares and the heart racing feeling. It may then help with flashbacks during the day also as a lingering positive effect. It has helped me with mine, and now I am tapering off of it as I feel better. It is a drug you have to take every day. You can't suddenly stop taking it all at once, or you can get high BP and other withdrawal dangers. It worked really well for my nightmares and panic feelings so I think it's worth the hassle.

I hope the Dr. or therapist finds a way to help.

Another bad day due to nightmares.

Hubby went back to bed around 7 am after being up since around 4.30, he was shattered from a warm night and not slept too well.

He got back up around 9.30 in a heck of a mess after having a full blown nightmare of his accident. He tried to keep going and brush it off, but could not hold out any longer. he has now gone back to bed exhausted, but scared of sleeping.

The bedroom door has been left open, so I can hear him if he shouts out in a nightmare, something he never does.

Hubby is still not good, still felling crap even after trying to distract himself.

He has been referred back for therapy, but will have to wait 12 weeks for his initial assessment. Then heaven knows how long to be seen by a therapist. That is the UK system for you.

Maybe time to have a go at going through the solicitor and having him get the money for private therapy from the other party.

Amethist, I am so sad that you guys work so hard and have obstacles like this. Such is life. I hope you can get some private therapy. Ican empathize, my HMO changed and I only get 12 sessions with 2 month breaks in between,

Such is life. You are doing your best. My heart goes out to you. I am sorry you have to go through this one. I hope that you can keep your spirits up. Big hugs.

((((((((((((Amethist)))))))))))))

My heart goes out to you both. I'm grateful to read that you hear snoring ;).

:roflmao: kept me awake for hours Srain. The nightmares I can stop, the snoring is a different story.

He can have his head up his butt and snore like a steam train.
