So, as many of you already know, I haven't been doing well. Haven't been able to eat or sleep for a week. Well the eating thing has been an issue longer than that, but yeah.
Anyway, I had my appt with my gastroenterologist today to get results for the endoscopy, and multiple biopsies, I had done several months ago.
It turns out there is something pretty wrong. All the biopsies came back abnormal. He doesn't know what it causing it yet, and is further investigating, but at least they know something is wrong.
He suspects either Celiac Disease, or Chrohn's to be the issue. I am just happy that they found something. I have had stomach issues for three years now, and finally someone is getting to the bottom of it.
I feel validated. I am so happy that it isn't all just my head. I can't blame PTSD for this one!
Also, I was given meds that are supposed to help if either of those conditions is present. Can you believe the prescription was $345.59?!?
Thank goodness for drug benefits. Tariq's job finally paid off!
I'm just feeling so happy, and hopeful, about this whole stomach thing. I know, it is funny that I am happy to have a disease, but if I am going to be sick, I would rather have a diagnosis, and a way of treating the issue, than to just continue on as I have been, very ill, and with no answers, no one listening to me, and feeling like I might just be crazy.
So YAY me! There is something wrong with me. I am not a nutjob!
