Wow. So, it looks like this thread got off course a lot.
To the first poster - am I right that your point was you don't seem to fit in here because your trauma is different from what you see most on here - child abuse, combat ptsd etc?
To that I would say, post, keep posting. Someone else on here, out there looking for something like this place, will be able to relate. Even if they're too afraid to come forward at this time and post as well. Your posting could help give them courage to seek their own help or join forums like this one.
I have in the past come across a few posts from people writing about their previous abuses from police. I personally knew a kid that was thrown against an elevator door by a cop just because he could, just because he wanted the kid to know he had the power, the guy was in handcuffs! the elevator door opened, no elevator and the cop threw the kid in forcibly without looking - the kid fell 3 floors before landing on the top of the elevator and died.:mad:
As for feeling alone on here. I think all of us have at one point or another. Your triggers and flashbacks and fears and experiences may seem vastly different from everyone else on here, but in general, we all understand what type of hell it is trying to live with PTSD, regardless of where it came from.
