I met with my normal orthopedist and he wrote a script for a wheelchair. I sobbed. He asked me to tell him when I was ready to listen to him as I sat there in tears. Like seriously dude?

But I found a new orthopedist who said he is willing to do surgery! We did some tests and I will schedule the surgery soon.

I am relieved and nervous and slightly hopeful. No idea if surgery will work, but we both figure it's worth trying so we know we did everything. And it may work... in trying to be cautiously positive.

I like this new doctor. He did a great job of answering my questions and is trained working with athletes. He is nice and said to wait on the wheelchair.

I'm wrestling through a little panic right now. I am in the middle of a return to work and school, and juggling surgery and crutches and all that is going to be a challenge - but it's one I'm ready to do my best at handling it. I start pre-hab today to get ready for surgery in a few weeks.

I'm glad to hear you've found a good doctor! You can get a wheelchair anytime, but here's hoping you never need one. (Just don't over do. That sounds like a pretty tough schedule.)
