New Here
Hi, I'm Sarah and I'm 26 years old. I live in England, I have two young children and I've been married for nearly six years.

I find it incredibly hard to talk about my experiences in person, so I'm hoping this forum will be a great help to me.

In short, I'm a childhood incest survivor (though I remember very little of it), and was later raped and had an abortion just after my 15th birthday by someone else entirely.

Procedures I had I have after having my second son triggered a lot of awful memories, and I'm now paying the price of suppressing and ignoring everything for so many years.

I look forward to having a look around and hopefully getting to know some of you!

Sarah

Welcome to the Forum, Sarah! What does CSA stand for?

I'm both a survivor of incest and rape too, as are many of the women here. My rape was by a boyfriend, the incest was by my grandfather. Even just going for a skin check with the dermatologist can have me pretty worked up, so when you mention procedures, how much worse that must be!

Take your time to get to know the topics and people here. You will find support and dare I say love and understanding that I personally have not found anywhere else on earth!

Welcome to the forum Sarah. There are a lot of good people, and many will understand what you are going through. It helps to know you are not alone in this.

Welcome Sarah.

@SheilaKathy CSA is childhood sexual assault. My understanding (from an old memory) is that CSA was introduced to cover sexual abuse which was not technically incest (no legal family relationship) but still resulted in the same symptoms/problems. For example, a trusted family 'friend'.

Welcome! This community has been so helpful to so many of us. There is something so freeing about knowing there are others who have felt or thought the same way! And more than that, there is so much hope that comes from seeing where others have overcome whatever piece of this I'm battling today!

Welcome to the forum Sarah. I too am a survivor of incest during childhood.

I have been on a healing path for approx 15 years or so. I have been a member of this forum for 5 years and it has helped me immensely. I hope you have the same healing experience as I have had.

Please, hang in there and talk about what you want, when you are ready.

Welcome to the forum Sarah.

I am a new enough member myself but have already found such helpful and compassionate support. I am a mum to one baby boy and having him triggered a lot of past and repressed trauma, esp childhood abuse and incest.

I hope you find this forum helpful :-)

Seems that good ol' grampa made me into a child prostitute! UGH!!!

@ SheilaKathy

I wish you hadn't had to endure that kind of trauma!!!

I can't imagine how that makes you feel, but I know how CSA made me feel, so I am willing to chat with you anytime you wish to. (I am also a survivor of incest and brutal molestation) among other things. I hope you find all the peace and healing you need/want!!!

Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread.

ummm carry on?!!!

*blushing,
Lion

@oursarah

Welcome to the forum! :)

As you read, I hope that you find yourself feeling less alone in your struggles. So many here have been victims of CSA and many members have also found their symptoms spike after events in the present trigger the memories of the past. I hope you have access to a good trauma therapist as they can really help you to reclaim your present and to enjoy your life with your own family.
