Other Twitching While Sleeping

Do you want to start one?

I started a "tackle hypervigilance club" and so far there is two spouses and an american ex military. You find it in the "supporter" --> "sufferer's symptoms" subsection. If you or your spouse has hypervigilance I would be happy if you join.

No hypervigilence we have twitching and the hymnopmpic stuff in our house I don't even know if it's ptsd related but I have a high stress job and have been attacked at work as have many of my colleagues. Loads of us have sleep problems like insomnia. My husband has ex forces background and then worked in the same hospital as me so has both backgrounds. It was googling sleep twitching that led me to the ptsd sites and this one had an old thread where people were describing what my husband does.

Oh! I think I got you wrong then. Does your hubby have PTSD? Do you suspect he has it?

I suspect, strongly, in fact I suspect a lot of ex forces do have it. As many have seen horrendous things but it's a culture of stiff upper lip and get on with it. There's other things as well. He rarely talks about the horrible thing, theres been a few other bits that have made me suspect (as I've said I'm a mental health nurse) but he's always brushed off my concerns and I don't want to push. I know these things can take years. I was hoping that once he started looking into the physical symptoms the doctor may ask some other more psychological questions. It's the first time he's ever done anything about it.

Do you know the whiteboard video about PTSD? You can find it one youtube if you search for "white board" and "PTSD". Maybe you could show it to your husband. It explains the condition and was made for ex militaries/people with a stiff upper lip to my mind. @holdenmonty told me about it and it is very helpful explaining PTSD to my mind.

I have to go now. Wish you both a good night and hope to see the both of you on here soon.

By the way a friend has recommended a site called combat stress, she says they are really good. She think her husband has ptsd but he strongly denies it, they have been very supportive to her.

@saratonk Welcome!

I was glad to read that your husband went to the doctor. It is important when people experience changes in their bodies that continue or worsen that they have it checked out by a physician and not always assume it is something else. I have PTSD, but the cramps I have been experiencing in my legs and feet were not a result of this but a side effect of medication. Hopefully your husband will find the source and you both will get a good night's sleep in the near future.

Wow, posting a link to this website on facebook is kind of messed up. We don't really want people coming here to lookie-loo.
Eh? So why is there a link to facebook at the bottom of every page that you can click if you wish? It comes just under the heading 'Share this page'. The poster is entitled to do so if she wishes. This is a public forum, and the more the merrier if it helps spread understanding.
