Firstly Brad, welcome to the forum mate.
Secondly, don't feel week for being on this site. The site has changed over the last 18 months or so, but the one thing that has not changed is that you can say what you want. Even if it is just to vent your frustrations. i forget this sometimes. The military have conditioned us to not be week and to not whine and bitch about things and to just shut up and get the job done. Well here you can say what you want.
You don't have to talk about your trauma's, but you can if you want.
New to the forum are the carers and partners. They are actually good to have sometimes as we veterans tend to be a bit one eyed when it comes to PTSD.
The best thing about this site is that it contains mostly veterans, and from all different conflicts. You get Nam veterans, Somalia, Rwanda, and even some places I have not heard about. But really when it comes down to it, combat is combat, and it does not matter what country your in, or what role you played, being utterly terrified and seeing total chaos and destruction, smelling the smells, etc are all the same.
I just hope that something someone on this site says can help.
Jimmy
