@Heather - yes, if you are Premium, you have that feature.

At the top of a thread you'll see 'thread tools'

Select that, then select 'manage reply bans'

Then, follow prompts.

If anyone wants to try it out in the testing forum, you can issue reply bans to @JL Admin (that's my dummy account).

You can only ban on your threads... who you ban is up to you. It is a premium member feature.

You can't ban staff, the system won't let you. You can add them... it just won't work is all. Staff have an overriding permission system.

The anonymous account also rides under the moderating permission set.

Yep - subjective. It's completely up to you. If for some reason it's being abused, staff will intervene; but it's job is to put a little more control in the hands of the thread starter. I do think it'll be especially good for diaries

Honestly, I'm not really certain. I think we will need to see how it plays out in real time. It's just like a more powerful 'ignore' feature - and there's really no way to abuse ignore. So, probably, nothing...we'll see.
