Thanks for sharing that @Zoogal . However after watching the video I am still not sure that I perceive any real difference. The language used to describe the symptoms is different but same in interpretation. For example hopelessness and worthlessness. I get that for a Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) diagnosis there does not need to be a trauma. However I have heard anecdotally that most people with BPD later reveal a trauma that was not first mentioned.
Self harm and suicidality are less mentioned with CPTSD and yet they are very common, with the emotional dysregulation , impulsivity and explosive moods.
It is interesting, but for me does not go deep enough to really answer the question.
I was talking about this with my psychologist the other day because I think that I have aspects of BPD and other personality disorders but I also have CPTSD.
I do find a lot of things in mental health are interchangeable and people shouldn't be ashamed because they have one "label" or another.
