What Did You Do For You Today???

Today I bought 2 new thermostatic radiator valves to replace the ones that have gone AWOL. Tomorrow I will change the old ones for the new ones.

10 minute job, no problem. :D

Arranged to spend 3 nights next month visiting an old friend I havent seen for 15 years, whilst Hubs is on a residential course nearby.
She's one of my armywife sisters and she has been amazing, although from afar,at keeping me going the last few months.
So excited...

Visited my BFF of 40 years...garage sales...yippeeee!!

I feel good! Proud that I am not freaking out about my 30 year old son, visiting in the Philippines, has fallen in love with a girl, so is going to stay an extra month, then come back, sell his things and go back until they can get her a visa. (INHALE) He has known, for a long time that he doesn't want to marry an American. Divorce comes too easy here...I agree. I was married 4 times. But, he is NOT like me, and hasn't been married, and has no children.

Oh, yes, back to the ??? What I did for myself today...

SHOPPED and DIDN'T FREAK OUT! In the past, I would have freaked out...bad!

I watched the Barbara Streisand movie "On a clear day you can see forever". I've never seen that movie before. It's a bit strange, but funny. I really liked it. AND IT DID NOT TRIGGER ME!!!!! First movie in ages I have watched that did not trigger me!

Then went on to watch the Owl and the pussycat movie. Which is hilarious. But did women really wear such short skirts in the 60's?

Apart from a few odd bits that need doing, I have now finished decorating our bathroom. The hardest part was fitting the new curtain rail for the blind I made. I cut it off a coil of tracking I bought, and did not want to stay flat to the fittings. :roflmao:

Photos as requested by Nicolette. :D

Went for a 2 plus mile walk by myself. Felt good to exercise! Bummed my walking buddy moved too far away to walk with me anymore...

So much for a 10 minute job to fit the new radiator valves. it would have been just that, but the new fitting were slightly bigger than the old ones, being almost 20 years old they would be wouldn't they.

So had to call the plumber to fit not only the top thermostatic part, but the whole connection part on them. Good job I did though, as the drain plug washer needed replacing and I did not have one of those. Took him an hour to do the whole lot, I would be on the phone now asking him to come and sort it out for me.

But only 3 left to be replaced, so I will get them done in the next few weeks, just in case they let me down over the winter.

Nothing yet... I work til 5, then I'll probably lounge around for the night.

Last night I splurged and got myself some delicious speghetti and meatballs and hung out with my mom to watch Project Runway. Then I got into bed early to watch Family Guy.

Weekend plans: Tomorrow I'm traveling into the city for lunch with a friend and her husband at my favorite restaurant that I havent been to in over a year.
Sunday I have a three hour dance rehearsal. Should be a good time.

Told my husbands mother to ask other's for help in future, as her son was too ill to be running errands and doing little jobs for her. If he cannot ride his bike for his own enjoyment how the heck can he ride it to your house.

She went a bit quite after that. There are plenty of others around who can and should.

It felt sooooooooooooooo good to tell her that once and for all. :D ;)
