What Do You Do For You?

Gizmo, I have tree skirts for my siblings that I started, I think, over five years ago. Every year, right before Christmas I work on them a little more. I think my perfectionism got in the way.

Last year I made my youngest a robe that was similar to the ones on star wars. It was a pain in the keester, but I got it done without him seeing me. I swore I would never do that again. Would you believe after six months one of the arm sleeves fell off? They just don't make things like they use to. :rolleyes:

I have to be in the right frame of mind to start and finish a project. I go through phases of creativity. Right now I'm wishing that something would come to me so I can write a post for my blog.

I am really glad I started this thread. I have a big rubbermaid full of old craft stuff. Like SweetPea and I were talking about the quilting I was doing takes up a lot of room and a lot of hassle to get out and clean up. Anyway, in my rubbermaid I found the stuff I used to use for embroidery and crocheting. I started crocheting again a few days ago and am really enjoying it. I have to count out the stitches and stuff, and am still learning so it takes some amount of concentration. It is serving as a nice distraction.

I hope you are able to start working on your crafts again Gizmo :)

Gizmo, can you take up a small craft that can be stored in a small place? I hope so.

PirateLady that's great that you found the embroidery and crocheting goodie box.

I'm so swamped, but I get a few days around Thanksgiving -- I hope to play a little. I've been wanting to make some silly jumping jacks with political themes, like protester jumping jacks: one arm could hold up a sign like "take back the night!" and the other arm could have a sign like "down with violence!" Whimsy with attitude!;)

Today I am snuggled down with the furbabies, coloring, drinking mocha in a tea set my Mom gave me and reading books that my favorite Auntie bought me over 4 decades ago!
