What would you come back as?

A juniper tree.

I think Shel Silverstein captured the essence of trees in his masterpiece “The Giving Tree.” Living as a human today it’s hard to escape the discomfort of how much humans take, not just for need but for entertainment, desire, and for (the word of the century) greed. Not all humans, and we didn’t start the fire, but we live in a society, or a framework as
postmodern poststructural commentary has taught us.

And to escape all the taking, to be a species who gives throughout their life, gives shade, gives a backrest, gives sacred branches to burn for incense, gives a walking stick, gives authentic beauty, gives folklore, gives wisdom, gives shelter, and in death gives even more, is a powerful escape fantasy.

Trees are so cool... I'd like to come back as a weeping willow or even a corkscrew willow, they are beautiful trees. (Still, the most intense tree I've ever seen is a picture of a Giant Sequoia. They are humongous!!!)

When it comes to other life forms I'd like to come back as a tiger swallowtail butterfly. That is how I plan to appear to those who know me.

Are you aware of his career as a songwriter? He was a Renaissance man, I perceive. Appearances are a poor footing to base an opinion on, based on the children's books he was a sensitive enlightened guy. Some of his songs would make you think he was an experienced bar fighter. I like him sum total, but he definitely threw some outliers. I think I like "this guitar is for sale" the best. Covered by John Prine, worth a listen.

I still want to come back as a dog. A water dog with an owner that lives near a river and doesn't mind wet dogs in the truck.

I was recently asked the question, "Do you think you will reincarnate? and surprising even to me was my answer, ..."No."

I don't think I will reincarnate on the Earth plane as I feel I have accomplished the goal of making a good "Earth walk."

But who knows, I may reincarnate on many other planes simultaneously. I know there are many wonderful things that one could come back as, but I think I want to go on to a higher spiritual plane and maybe come back as a soft spring breeze, a rainbow, or sunshine on a child's face.

Beautiful @Lionheart! I’ve always been intrigued by people who have a strong connection toward reincarnating in the distant future or in some place other than Earth or this Universe.
