I place a lot value on authenticity and honesty but at the same time trying to keep in mind that certain statements need to be carefully dosed and be placed in a non-hurtful and a respectful manner. I find it very difficult to interact with people who are continously pretentious. I do understand that fear, insecurity can make us humans act in certain ways, and I am no different.
A few weeks ago, two women were talking about selfies, instagram and how hard it is to keep up the good looks. I personally dont understand the standard concept of beaury and I do like my appearence. So, while talking I said that I dont engage in social media because I dont see why it is relevant for me to share or show all the things I am doing with random ( or not so random ppl) people.
The fact that I said that "that I like the way I look" was irritating to them, saying huh sounds a bit arrogant ha?
I said, No...just that I like the way I look.
Having said this.... I felt good...
