Your Pet Did What!?!

Buddy must have been cold when she came in today. She snuggled up to me on the couch and buried her head under my arm.

She gets nervous around children. I think it is because they are about her size. There are no small people here or live around us, so when someone shows up with one she cautiously checks them out and is very skittish. Never growls. I think they are just a novelty to her.

My dog one time had ate a spiked watermelon that was left out overnight outside. We were celebrating my husband's 25th birthday and the next morning our dog was so lethargic and in the yard were watermelon rinds that had been eaten by our dog. He would always get into so much trouble and eat almost anything.

Well I lost out to the cats today. I stretched expecting my normal love fest with Buddy(she does this every morning I wake up). This time, however, she started to then the cats started playing and off went Buddy. :( Now I really know where I stand with her. :p

Okay, despite being my little terrier mix's main caretaker, I believe I got dissed again. We bought her for my son, but he doesn't take care of her like I do. Yesterday, while horsing around with my said son, Buddy started barking at me and jumping up at me. However, when he messed back with me she just went about her business. Seriously, I am beginning to see where I rate! :p

Today, while walking home from the library with my PTSD Service Dog (who is a miniature dachshund), I had to walk us onto the grass by the side of the road, to avoid a car. Then we were crossing a large intersection, and I looked down and she had a dead squirrel in her mouth!!! I jerked the leash, which is her "NO!" sign, and she dropped it (thankfully without a fight or my having to pry it loose from her mouth).

She is well behaved, and I did not punish or berate her for her instincts either. Nor did I yell at her at all. I just cannot believe she had that thing in her mouth for a good 20 steps before I saw it! YUCK!!!

I was SOOOooo... relieved when she took several drinks of her water once we got home. Still, I had a hard time letting her sit in my lap later today, even though that is usually how she calms me. I had to keep telling myself about the way dogs' mouths are the cleanest, they have special properties that cleanse them regularly and so on. I've studied all that, but to believe it, that takes a bit, for my natural squeamishness comes into play here too!

Haha, Max is now back to normal. My other dog is now a thief. I kep dog treats and chews in the garage and whilst I'm having work done on the house, one of the boxes was moved to the floor.

I'm outside chatting a my neighbour and I notice Saffi eating what I thought was a piece of wood. Oh no, the little minx has helped herself to a chew, luckily I caught her in the act of stealing another.

I think our cat is going deaf.

She always has been one to have "Selective hearing", but lately even her ears don't twitch when we talk to her.

She is getting on a bit now though, so maybe its just old age.

When she wants feeding she lets us know by sitting at the side of her dish and miaowing at us until we take notice. Or she sits in front of me and wont leave me alone until I feed her.
