Oh Yes. Fireworks

My PTSD is not combat related but I cannot do fireworks. It is so loud and unnerving that I cannot go. ALSO, it reminds me of when I was happy, some time long ago that I can't really remember. It just pisses me off.
I know the fireworks threads are always up this time of year and hugs to all those with combat wounds......but I was just wondering if anyone else who has PTSD from other stuff hates the CRAP out of fireworks???
PS, I love what they stand for and am happy that it makes people happy. I watched some on TV and it made me happy to see all the kinds smiling, so it is not that I don't want fireworks to exist. It is just they make me feel so bad!!!!

I don't like the crowds that come with fireworks. I don't have ptsd, I just dont like crowds. I would rather watch fireworks on TV or at a big distance.

No shit, ive been on edge all day long and have an 80lb dog up my ass whom refuses to do anything outside so im sure i will be cleaning a mess in the morning.

I remember when I was really little and my dad would take us to see them, it makes me sad.

It started thunder storming here so they started but the f*cking thunder is making my dog still not go out.

My chair is shaking from all the explosions outside. Think I'll pack up and go somewhere else for the rest of the evening.
Usually I can brace myself. Today that's not happening. Tomorrow will be quieter.

Shit, not in my apartment complex. They shoot off fireworks for days. Last night I almost got in an accident on the way home from work because of "Red Hot and Boom" which I had no clue it was going to be here and now today my dog is insane because it sounds like gun shots inside my house. Sigh!

Our windows were shaking! The closest show was about 10 miles away tonight and they must have had some hella-good fireworks as the shows that were 2 and 5 miles to the south (in previous evenings) just sounded like distant gunfire.
