My opinion, we need to be. We need to take all guns from all people and stop any coming in and start over with the way people obtain firearms.

This is not the answer. There are millions of gun owners here in the United States that have never caused any problems.

We need to get to the root of the problem. Why is there so much anger amongst the citizens. How do we as a nation come together and solve the fractioning of our society?
I think all of us, regardless of skin color, gender, or ethnicity all want the same thing. We want to live in security, be able to take care of our families, and to be able to build a better life for ourselves.

I believe that America is still one of the greatest countries the world has ever seen. It is still a land rich with opportunity, but this opportunity is not given to us on a silver platter, we must work for the opportunity to make our lives better.

It is time for us to stop fighting one another, to stop blaming this race, or that race for our problems, and failings. We need to start working together, giving each other an hand up, and ensure that all have an equal opportunity to improve their lives.

@RussH, I agree but how likely is that to happen? I hate racism, I hate hatred of others but how likely is all of this going to happen if not forced upon us?

I didnt mean like take guns forever. I grew up in a very country family with guns and hunting and what not, though I personally hate guns, I dont want to take that liberty away. BUT, if I wanted to, I could go down a few doors and buy a gun. We need to fix that. As well as tightening up on legal licences and we need to put more systems into place for paroloees to lower the huge recidivism so not so many criminals roam the street.

Parents are lazy today letting tv, PCs, tablets, and phones babysit. They set the child in front of god knows what online for hours. The days of "go out and play til dark" are over. The amount of home that teach good morals today are way less then back in history even 10 yrs. Can we stop making criminals out of bored teenagers and teach them morals please?

I also believe that Trump is mobolizing anger. I do agree with him more than Clinton but he needs to stop the angry campaign as I believe it is making us an angry country that's been silenced by Obama.

Anyway, didnt mean to go on a polical tanget, I never talk politics here. Its all just making me very angry. We need to do something now and fast as just talking about why, as a nation, we are angry isnt working. Peaceful protests arent working. Something drastic and fast needs to happen!

One week later, on Sunday, Jackson's life was cut short in a shootout that left three officers dead and three more injured, law enforcement said."

@Justmehere, thank you from my heart for sharing this. Puts a human face to this tradedgy and for the other officers as well... And they all had kids!!
Please America, lets leave a healing legacy for all these children who have lost their fathers, color has no meaning anymore. Even the men who lost their lives by policemen... for their children too....
It has to stop... but not like this...It has to change. My heart is broken for the America we now live in.

The second ammendment was exactly for war

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life Liberty and the pursuit of happiness(good!). That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men (total non sequittur), deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed (fallacious hobbesian crap).

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, (at last, a good bit!)

Do you expect entrenched powers and corrupt psychopaths who get up to $700,000 for a single speaking engagement - to just say "ok, you're right, we'll just peacefully walk away..."?

Whatever the faults and fallacies of the signatories to the 1776 declaration, that is one part that they did understand.

they can go read the ninth:

Now, what exactly are these "Assault Rifles?"
don't say "full auto" because they are not. legal full auto is a very small group of very responsible and pretty wealthy people, even a crappy STEN will knock you back over $10,000 if it is full auto with paperwork

once you have defined "assault rifle"

kindly explain how they might differ from say a Remington model 8 or a Winchester 1905 semi auto from the early 1900s.
