News The Hillary Support Thread!

I'm so there with everyone's disbelief over Trump and his campaign. How could he...? What is he....? Who could people be supporting him??? I feel pretty intense about my worries about him. I'm elated that Clinton is up in the polls, especially in swing states, but there is so much time between now and Nov. 8 and I dread what the wikileaks emails will reveal. I'm sure there are scandals to be found in any email by a politician, including both republicans and democrats. But Hillary is really getting a beating on the emails. I hope that the Russians didn't get anything embarrassing. But like the first revelation, I hope the media and American focus on the question of why the heck is Russia helping Trump instead of the contents.

I agree with BloominWinter:

Goodness, Trump's ties to Puntin is very frightening. How can ANY American support the guy?

Yet he calls Hillary untrustworthy. Sheesh!

Did everyone see the latest news? Paul Manafort's name was in a ledger that contained payments by a pro-Russian Ukrainian official to various people. Manafort's name was logged 22 times to the tune of $12.7 million. What is his role in Trump's campaign? Though he charged lots of money to advise dictators in the Ukraine and elsewhere, he volunteers for the Trump campaign FOR FREE. Wtf? I've read that the reason why Trump is so pro-Russian is because he owes wealthy Russians lots of money since he can't take out loans due to his bankruptcies. He's in exactly the position to be vulnerable to influence. And how about the fact that Ivanka is on vacation as we speak with Putin's girlfriend, Wendi Deng?

Republicans used to be so patriotic. I'm so confused how Trump's supporters could be okay with his Putin connection. Is it more patriotic to be pro-Russian than to vote for an American dem? So irrational.

I'm worried about the polls, too. Large margins tend to stifle turnout because people think their vote doesn't matter.

Really, this election is about the down-ticket, too. We've got to get these sexist, racist, obstructionist GOP men OUT. They are causing us all to suffer in our pocketbooks, education, infrastructure, and in our healthcare.

Remember when Clinton was President and we had good roads? Good infrastructure? Lots of jobs? Readily available and affordable treatment centers?

That's what millenials have never seen...a country that actually is working together to make things better. So I can't stand it when people blame them for apathy. Why wouldn't they be disgusted with the status quo? They've never experienced a time when we weren't at war or had a congress that worked together.

And we had a surplus. Imagine! A lot of the problems Trump tries to pin on Obama actually came from the Bush years. In that letter that 50 GOP national security advisors/experts signed supporting Hillary, the GOP'ers said that in fact they were, alongside the Senators who voted for their actions, responsible for the instability in the Mid-east when they decided to invade Iraq.

I also will not ever vote for a Republican for congress or the presidency ever again because every single one of them voted AGAINST equal pay for women. EVERY SINGLE ONE. How any self-respecting person who cares about women could vote for these misogynistic jerks who allow our employers to steal our wages is beyond me. To think that if it had passed I'd have been getting fair wages all this time really pisses me off.

The legislation is going to pass if we get a Democratic House and Senate back, along with a President who won't veto it. That would quickly pull literally millions of American women out of poverty, and when women get equal pay, we tend to spend in our local economy, boosting growth and hence creating jobs.

Any business which requires theft of women's wages to prosper is unethical and deserves to fail.

Hillary gets it. She was one of the Senators helping our Equal Pay campaign the whole way.

Emily's List is a great site to learn more about women candidates. Project VoteSmart is a good site to see candidate's "political courage test" responses and see how they've voted.

Another reason I love Hillary is because she understands that Americans need and deserve paid sick leave, something which Republicans are completely against. I don't want to be cared for in a hospital where the workers have to work sick or lose their jobs, something that is still happening at my local hospital where I was a paramedic. Teachers and parents should be able to stay home when they or their child is sick rather than being out in the public putting us all at risk.

It's a basic public health issue, not that Republican science-deniers care. Chances are, many of them never watched their kids. One of the reasons we're all at such risk is because Americans can't stay home when ill, so communicable diseases spread rapidly. If we could stay home and keep our germs to ourselves, we'd all be healthier and safer. It's also a basic homeland security strategy. If someone were to release pathogens into public spaces, people who started feeling ill would already be able to isolate themselves at home and minimize the rapid spread.
Honestly, I'm so tired of Hillary's emails being the damned story when we all deserve to be discussing these issues that TRULY MATTER. But when people are easily angered by propaganda, our candidates get by without having to discuss these things. Every person who cares about women and children should be aware of how much the GOP has been standing in the way of equality.

Found out that because I work for a specific agency, I can have nothing to do with fundraising. I'm going to 'officially' hand off all the work I've done on the viewing party to someone else. Sucks.

I agree. Gun control and Garland too. These republicans are obstructionists who care more about their ideology than actually doing what's right. I also think that there is latent racism against Obama. They are soooo antagonistic to him in particular. I think Americans are starting to open their eyes, especially when they saw how hard the dems were working to get some sort of action on gun control, and the republicans chose instead to break for the summer (got NRA donations much?) I hope the GOP is voted out in both the house and senate in the fall.

I agree 1000%. The witch hunt is so costly and couterproductive. I thought they were the party of fiscal conservation. Whatever drives them is irrational and psychological rather than based on any facts.
