Today I was diagnosed with breast cancer-I was given a few days to choose between a lumpectomy or a mastectomy -Tomorrow MRI. Yes its treatable but it's scary and I still ask myself why me???

I am sure this belongs in another category but I don't care right now.

Ah shit...... You are probably scared out of your mind or at least chuck full of anxiety. I'm so sorry that you got dealt this. It sucks. They have come a long way with cancer these days, and there are so many different treatments out there.. Try to stay positive. Try to stay as calm as you can.

Why are they moving so fast with this???? I would think that you might want a second opinion or at least find the best surgeon that you can?!?!?!?!

I have been with this breast surgeon for 6 1/2 years. I trust him. He removed one 6 years ago that was not cancer but suspicious. No other treatment- this time I need surgery then radiation possibly chemo.

Well,if you have faith in him then it's the best for you. I've had 2 lumps removed from my breast and one in my armpit. They were all benign, but I do remember how scared I was.....

My therapist called-I cried. She said we will hold off on EMDR. I told her I need her...someone to know what happened to me before I die. She said your not going to die-your not leaving me yet. I think I could have put her in tears.

You have my sympathy. You don't deserve any of that stuff to happen to you. :hug::cry:

My gran had a full masectomy over thirty years and wears prosthetics. I dunno what's the typical treatment for breast cancer now, but she hasn't had cancer since and it's impossible to tell with clothes on.
