I'm sorry you are going through this. It is awful.
I have been using ambien for years but doesn't always work. I will sometimes add 1/2 more. I can skip it sometimes. I take pain meds, anti anxiety meds and baclofen for migraines daily which can make me tired if I'm not stressed about something.
I was told by my psychiatrist never to drink caffeine after noon and chocolate can keep me awake. It is very true for me.
I get compulsive on the internet especially when stressed and cannot get myself to bed. I will resort to going to bed in my clothes if I am so tired I can't bear to put on pajamas and can't get off the internet otherwise.
I turn on the computer or TV to listen to something I'm not interested in and shut my eyes and that works. YouTube has sounds like boxfan and other white noise. Some have black screens so no light is added. I've read blue light stimulates your brain to stay awake so hide that on your computer or monitor.
I used to use freesounds.com with recordings of almost anything like streams, birds in the morning, the ocean, storms, the forest at night, crowd noise, etc. It's cool. Just find long ones or a bunch you can automatically play sequentially.
