Feeling saddened and pretty disgusted, as well as painfully reminded why I make the choices I make in my everyday consumption habits now.
A local goat farm was recently requesting a price check on whole milk at local groceries in order to feed the huge lot of goat babies that were just born.
Instead of the mama goats being able to feed their young and bond with them as nature very much intended, they all get to be separated from their mamas and are made to drink in the milk and energies of another species who was likely not treated very well AT ALL in the whole industrial agriculture process (also having their babies taken away immediately - and if they were male babies, sorry 'bout their luck, as they're quickly being killed and processed for veal products and such) just so they can save and harvest the milk of the goat mama to sell to the damn humans who don't NEED either to survive. God dammit!
There's so much money to be made in the name of misery, ay? So much misery to digest in a day, ay? Literally. Sell the milk, sell the animals who can't produce milk for meat, sell chances to pet the cute lil' babies who are being deprived of their mama's milk and nurturing presence, and then sell classes to teach others how to continue the ongoing cycle of insanity. Selling souls of innocent beings who have no say or choice in the matter...one bite, one stroke, or one drink at a time.
Way to go, humans. If folks wish to march loudly and proudly for the female species' rights and shit, how about the rights of the female animals being used and more often than not being treated like shit everyday, behind closed doors, until, of course, they end up in some cleaned up, drug laden, artificially colored, pimped out way, shape, or form on the damn grocery shelves or drive-thru windows. Grrr..... Just because the unpleasant shit is kept well out of sight very much on purpose doesn't mean it isn't happening.
I'll never fully innerstand how the dots don't seem to be able to connect in most brains/hearts and will continue to hold onto some threads of hope while I keep speaking up for the innocent beings involuntarily stuck in the vicious cycle of human taste bud addictions who can't speak for themselves.
