[Still Standing]

In my head, it is foggy. Outside it is a clear, cold, dry night. Spring-like weather for the rest of the week.

We had thunder snow here this week, too. I was kind of freaked as I could see lightning strike between our house and our next door neighbor's house.

Lol, Chuck Todd on MSNBC played a clip at the end of his show today of Jim Cantori of The Weather Channel standing outside in a snowstorm last night, jumping around and exulting in thunder snow. It was hilarious.

Okay, do any other weather geeks have the National Weather Service website with their local forecasts on their computer all the time? I am weirded out because since yesterday, they have been using daylight savings time even though that doesn't start till Sunday. I just find it really disconcerting to see my page set at an hour ahead of the actual time. Or are they just tormenting me?

Okay, do any other weather geeks have the National Weather Service website with their local forecasts on their computer all the time?

It’s not just the national weather service. It’s a whole lot of federal agencies, as the change happens over the weekend, and they’re not all staffed. So 5pm Friday weekend changes take effect, as non essential personnel (tech wizards & system admins, for example) won’t be back in until Monday... and having a computer system update itself is a risky proposition.

Why be incorrect for 2 days, instead of 1? So people can’t use the excuse to be late for work, Monday ;) It’s usually reversed in the fall, with the change happening on Monday instead of Friday. But each agency sets their own policy, AFIK.

We're becoming a banana republic when even the NWS isn't sufficiently staffed so that they can convey the correct time on their pages.

Less than 2 weeks ago we had a day where it was 71 degrees. Now we have almost 2 feet of snow on the ground!!! I want to know who pissed in mother nature’s Cheerios?????

Wow, now the National Weather Service has fixed the time so it's correct. Jeez loueeze, whoever screwed that up in the first place?

Oh, and weather? Cold. Still at least a foot of heavy wet snow everywhere.

Sunny, snow is almost gone and the inversion is thickening up...yuk.

Still cold and still about a foot of heavy wet snow. Sigh. Gotta go out and shovel a space for our dog care dog to go. He's a big lab, but even he would have trouble in this mess.
