What Did You Eat And Drink Last?

@berlinda, it's so hard for me to decide what I want when we go out for breakfast. I love it all. Omelets, pancakes, hash browns, fried eggs, corned beef hash,... Enjoy it!!
... Eggs Benedict, Biscuits & Gravy (@berlinda think savory yet fluffy scones in a sage & pepper pork mince béchamel sauce), ... :inlove:

One of my particular favorites is a vegetarian omelette with bacon. I don’t understand why people look at me weird. Killer grilled seasonal veggies and shrooms AND bacon. Hello! <drool>

It’s not MY fault they called it the “vegetarian” omelette instead of the “killer grilled veggie” omelette. :shifty:

I have to try biscuits n gravy one day, the place I'm going doesn't do them though. Next time I'll see if I can find any

There’s no sage in the gravy/sauce itself, not like bernaise requires ...um...tarragon? I sort of forget... it’s just what’s in the most common breakfast sausage.

US (pork) Breakfast sausage has sage in much the same quantity that brats have cardamon in them. Not enough to taste, per se, but enough to make them unique. But if you really hate sage? You probably won’t be a fan.

All is not lost!!! :D (Yes. Biscuits and gravy is just that good.) Cream Gravy (the important bit) comes in several different styles. And they’re all wicked good. It’s virtually any meat fat used as the base of the béchamel, with a LOT of cracked pepper in it.

- US (Chicken) breakfast sausage uses red pepper / pimento instead of sage.

- And turkey (or chicken) cream gravy just has roasted bird drippings, no herbs at all.

Turkey cream gravy is my personal favorite. ESP with the giblets minced superfine. I could eat that with a spoon. And soooooooometimes have (shhh). :cautious: :shifty:

omg! How did I forget about biscuits and gravy?!?
It’s so good it goes without saying, is all ;)

It's got to be sausage gravy. Made with milk. Just brown some ground breakfast sausage ( about half of a pound) with a little chopped onion. . Add a couple tablespoons of flour, stir until golden in color. Add 2 cups of milk and some black pepper . Stir rapidly until thick. Serve over warm biscuits or eggs or potatoes or....

A couple quarts of water, roasted dandelion root tea with blackstrap molasses and a little drizzle of honey, a couple handfuls of red grapes, a banana, and a mini cinnamon raisin bagel topped with sunflower seed butter and a sliced banana.

:hilarious: LMFAO... Sooooo

I woke up craving Shit on a Shingle (creamed chipped beef on toast). Which no one in their right mind eats voluntarily. At least not the kind I grew up with. Smoked, dried, salted, sliced, cured, tinned beef (that might have been a cow last century, it’s been preserved into the next millennium, so god alone knows when it actually died) smothered in a lard and powdered milk and flour gravy, on what might have been toast 15 years ago, and now really might be used to shingle a house. All in either a metal sardine type tin you roll the lid back on with a key (when they lock food away, it’s always cause for concern), or worse, by the bucketful in the cafeteria or chow hall. Nasty stuff. From start to finish.

I wanted it soooooo bad.

Probably because I was hungover just a smidge.

So I sacrificed some thin sliced frozen flank steak I was saving for tomato beef (Hong Kong style), salted the ever loving f*ck out of it, seared it up, and smothered it in over cooked rice noodles that only barely held their shape they were so soft.

It worked.

As hangover food.

<cough> Also coke, sparkling lemon water, a Virgin Bloody Mary, & Espresso.

I’m beginning to think I drank more than I thought I drank last night. :bag:
