Our cats

My first cat after we got married turned an "I'm bored Sunday afternoon "chipping" her crochet ball around the living room into an honest to god game of fetch. I hit the ball against the wall, she would chase it catch it and bring it back and go behind my legs waiting to go again. Used to play for hours....

This pair - has enough to pounce and chase and all that. Quite interesting interactions as siblings vs previous cats that were not.

Well, we had to start keeping the pantry door closed tight pretty early on for attacks on the paper towel but until last night - no toilet paper problems......

They did it right though and got the whole roll off and were doing whatever they do with it in the kitchen.

Anyone have any tricks to stop it? Because they both got a bop on the nose etc. but unless you catch the ringleader and discipline them it usually doesn't stop. For whatever reason I have been sleeping at night so its doubtful I will catch them if we put it back....

Hot pepper spray? Or powder? Which is my go-to in creating anti-cat-territory? Would NOT work with toilet paper. Unless you sacrificed a few rolls for learning purposes, and used wipes in the meantime. And even then? My luck would have me accidentally lighting my favourite bits on fire.

Given that I have the memory of a goldfish that would be my fear as well......

Apart from that catching the perpetrator in the act is usually the best fix but seeing its happening in the night.....and I'm getting a solid 3-4 hours sleep a night....

Disciplining one of them is out of the question unless I know the one responsible. Did that before and found one was doing the damage to watch the other one get a smack....until the one making the mess got the wife's bra caught in her collar while emptying the dresser....

I guess since keeping the paper in the vanity for a week or two or closing the door when not in use are the next steps. being locked out -- hey wait --- maybe locked IN would be better.......😈😈

Can you put some bergamot spray on the surfaces you want to to keep out off? I think you can get it from pet stores

I must be missing something…don’t you just…close the door!?!

Whenever I see the end product of a pup or kitty that has had a great time spinning the toilet roll holder till all the paper is a pile on the floor, it always makes me laugh and think, “yeah, I would have had fun if I’d done that as well!!!”
